The World health organization defines Health as “ a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
The Chiropractic approach is to enhance the quality of life in a patient so that they can flourish and not to simply mitigate symptoms. We know symptoms are often the last to show up and often times the first to disappear most likely due to the fact that only about 8 percent of nerves are for perception of pain.
Due to this, the list of what a Chiropractor can possibly care for is limitless as the Chiropractor is treating the body as a whole and not the symptoms. The most common conditions that present to our office include but are not limited to.
- Headaches
- Insomnia
- Stress
- Chronic or acute pain
- Extremity involvement; i.e overuse injuries
- Poor posture
- Fatigue
- Veterans with pain, disability and/or stress
- Whiplash incidents
- Pediatrics
- Expectant mothers
And though; we love our wellness patients, we are aware of the prevalence of the society that does suffer from pain and the associated effects of pain. We know that back and neck pain is the leading cause of disability in the world, with global prevalence and burden increasing with age. In the US, the prevalence and costs of back pain treatment are high and increasing. In 2010, US citizens who had low back pain lost an estimated 149 million days of work, costing businesses up to $200 billion in lost productivity. (Spine J. 2017 (Oct); 17 (10): 1570–1574)
